FAQ

  • How do I get to the studio?

We’re located at 1202 1/2 Cypress Avenue, right where Alice intersects with Cypress. Use this link to Google Map it!

  • What's the parking situation like?

Cypress Park is a residential neighborhood with some local businesses along the main drag. Parking can be a little difficult, so we recommend giving yourself a little extra time to find a space. Please be kind to our neighbors — it’s been difficult for locals to handle the traffic surge with how popular this specific area of Cypress Park has become. We recommend trying to find a spot on Cypress Avenue before turning onto a residential street! When possible, use alternative methods of transit!

  • Can I get there via mass transit?

    Yes!

The 251 stops right on the corner of Alice and Cypress.

If you’re down for a walk, the Heritage Square Station (A-line) is a 28 minute walk.

Also: the bike lanes in Cypress Park are really great!

  • What forms of payment do you take?

We can take Venmo, Zelle, cash, and now cards via Square. (If you rock a credit card, there will be a transaction fee!)

  • Can I bring a friend to the appointment?

Yes! We love hanging out. If the studio is very busy, we may just ask that whoever comes along with you steps out front to sit on our bench, or enjoys a nice neighborhood walk.

  • Do you take walk-ins?

We love walk-ins! We tend to book about 4-6 weeks out, however, so if we’re in the studio we can’t always accommodate a walk-in. Booking with your preferred artist will be faster!

  • Do you do custom designs?

Yes! Everyone at the studio loves designing original* art for our clients. Reach out to each artist directly to create the tattoo of your dreams!

  • *Original Art / Custom Tattoos

Getting a custom tattoo is a special experience and you should have the ability to alter and change the design to your desires and vision! However, if changes significantly alter the shape of the design (the size, how detailed it is, the location and how much space the tattoo takes up), there will be an additional $100 added to the price of the tattoo. We never want to discourage notes on art — every artist at Commonground is committed to providing an open, intentional space for our clients. We’ve found recently that the punk spirit doesn’t always match with how capitalism and time works. Drawing original art is time-consuming, and so applying major changes is a lot of time!
